"Gorgeous property. Balcony not worth the extra cost but view was spectacular. Bed was WAY too soft but management took care of it after our first night. Schooners had wonderful fresh food, and the location of the hotel was perfect. Friendly, helpful staff. Will definitely stay there again!"

"For a two star hotel it rose, in my mind? to a three star. The fireplace added an enjoyable comfort to the room. The staff were accommodating and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious. The only complaint was dogs barking at 7:30 am. When I called the front desk about the barking I was told the neighboring house next door owned 2-3 dogs. Unfortunately, it appeared the hotel could do nothing about this issue."

"This is my second time staying at the Colton Inn on a visit to Monterey. For me, it was important that it's located close to the Middlebury Institute of International Studies, but it's also within walking distance of lots of downtown/Old Monterey locations, including a drug store, Trader Joe's, cafes and restaurants, and the water front. Staff are always extremely helpful, I enjoy the breakfast (love that they have hard boiled eggs!), and always have a great stay here."
