"We stayed at the Dakota Hotel for our anniversary and while the hotel itself is undeniably stylish, there were a few disappointing aspects that didn’t match the standard being presented. The interiors are beautiful and the overall atmosphere is lovely, especially for a special occasion. The room was clean and comfortable, and staff were polite and welcoming. However, the parking was a let-down. The car park felt quite scruffy and poorly maintained, and having to pay extra for it didn’t feel justified given the condition and the price point of the hotel. More importantly, the lack of basic amenities was surprising. There were no robes, slippers, toothbrushes, toothpaste, or even a hair dryer provided. For a hotel that markets itself as luxury, these are fairly standard expectations and their absence was noticeable. Overall, while the hotel looks the part, it doesn’t fully deliver on the details you’d expect at this level. With a few improvements, it could be a much better experience."

"When checking in, I was told I had been allocated a room in the adjoining building, which as someone who had just had spinal surgery, the extra walking didn’t suit me at all. After they found me a room in the main building, I discovered it had an extra 2 beds in it, which left not a lot of room space. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room and I had to go down to the bar to get a coffee to take back to my room. Not good ! Bed was comfortable enough and tv worked. Best thing if the stay was the shower, it was outstanding. Don’t think I would stay there again 🤔"

"Room lovely- first time I’ve been away and not missed my own bed. Breakfast was gorgeous. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. My only concern was while sat in the bar area a woman was training staff (Middle aged woman with a german(?) accent) and started berating a staff member loudly in front of customers in the bar/ queuing for check-in - this was very unprofessional- and the staff member she was berating was a lovely, helpful lad."
