"This is a very old poorly maintained motel. The Formosa Inn is run by the next door neighbor the Garden Inn. The dark green carpet may be concealing the mold that was evident in the bathroom. The TV was useless and there were only 2 plugs in the room for charging devices. After seeing the room my wife said I will no longer be choosing places we will stay. I wondered about my judgment also until I looked again at the app. It rated this place 8.0 very good. This place should have been a 5.0 at...

"ANTS!! There were ants everywhere including our bed. When we told housekeeping, they told us some of the other rooms were having the same issue. The blankets also smelled like mildew. There is no fridge or microwave in the room. They have a communal kitchen for an added fee. The somewhat of a silver lining is their cafe which was okay..a bit overpriced for what it was though. The staff in the restaurant were sweet. I unfortunately will not be returning."

"The ac doesn't work. They provide fans and ice packs. That don't do anything the room was 86 degrees upon arrival and smelt like mold. The person working said they would give us a refund. And never responded the following day. Spend the extra few dollars and stay somewhere else or avoid this area all together "

"Such a beautiful property and the staff are amazing! From check-in to check-out, everything was wonderful. We were celebrating our 10th anniversary and were offered a complimentary upgrade as well as some chocolates and a card. The staff were so nice and thoughtful. We loved the peacefulness of the redwoods and the garden nearby. I wished we had had more time to spend than one night, but we’ll definitely come back next time we’re in the area!"

"We will not be returning. The front desk is only open for a few hours in the morning and before our stay started we called multiple times and never got an answer. Once we were turning in for the night we pulled the linens back to find a dead bug smeared into the sheets as well as random small stains scattered around. Once we called the after hours number someone came and told us “welcome to the country folks” and was very condescending. The room was also insanely dusty and an allergy nightmare....
