"Nice, very historic hotel. No A/C which normally isn’t a problem in Carmel. It was extremely hot which is very odd especially for this time of year."

"The first night Carmel was having a heat wave and the room was extremely hot. No AC in the room and only one of the wondows open. I know this is a rare situation but it would have been nice if they had fans in the rooms for days like this. Wouldn't be much of a cost for the Inn and definitely would hve made.the night more bearable. Weather was normal after that and we had a wonderful trip. I usually stay at the Normandy Inn when my wife and I visit Carmel which is a few times a year."

"We did not use the pool. Room was clean. There was no air conditioning so the room was a little warm. "

"Property extremely clean and staff very helpful. Close to downtown, did not need to drive anywhere and reasonably priced. "

"A lovely boutique hotel within walking distance to downtown Carmel restaurants, shops, and art galleries. Our room was very comfortable. The staff are very nice and helpful. The continental breakfast is outstanding. Parking can be a bit challenging as there are not enough spaces for the number of rooms but the hotel does not charge for parking."

"A clean place easy walk to all of downtown. Our only issue was the children bouncing off the walls above us from 9 pm to 12:30 am when I pounded on the ceiling at which they stopped immediately. I could have contacted the front desk but did not, my fault. The staff had wonderful recommendations for meals. "

"Everything at La Playa was amazing. The facilities, food, staff and proximity to the beach and Ocean Avenue shopping area. The hotel had a great boutique feel and was very classy. I would stay there again!!"

"Best part about this hotel is the location. It’s right at the end of Ocean Ave and a short walk to cafes, shops and restaurants. The bed was comfortable and shower pressure was awesome. "
