"So clean and the room was cozy. We were unsure as there were four of us sharing a room after the BIG SUR marathon and we were very pleased with our space. Fireplace added perfect ambiance. Breakfast in a basket each am was cute! Hot tub and garden area after the race was peaceful and much needed and the wine tasting and light bites after! The staff was super friendly! Would not hesitate to stay here again! "

"We have stayed at sister inns to this, and it is clearly inferior. It is an old hotel and struggles to meet what we expect when travelling these days. The furniture choices make the small space feel even more cramped than it is. The beds were a special sore point; they nearly drowned you in excessive comforters, and the sheets were too big. The big plus is location, location, location; it sits in a perfect place to easily wander through Carmel."

"The parking is not guaranteed. It is first come first served and they only have 7 spots. Rest is on street which is only from 7 pm to 8 am. I was very annoyed about no guaranteed parking (contra to what Hotels.com said). Room was shabby and not an impressive renovation of an older property. Very cheap coffee maker. Windows without screens. Fireplace worked fine. Gas. Large room but just not great at all. Cheaper pillows and linens. Towels were good quality. Older bath renovation with icky plastic shower curtain. Dreary. But quiet and safe. "

"We had a lovely stay at Pine Inn. The location truly can’t be beat—right in the heart of Carmel and less than a 10-minute walk to the beach, which made everything feel easy and accessible. I was traveling with my infant, and the hotel staff were incredibly accommodating. They provided a crib and even a refrigerator for storing her food, which made a huge difference in keeping our routine smooth and stress-free. Parking is definitely limited, so that’s something to keep in mind. We were fortunate to find a spot right outside the hotel, but I can see how it could be tricky during busier times. Overall, a charming and convenient place to stay, especially for families looking for a central location with thoughtful touches."
