The hotel is excellent for what you pay for. Hotel itself is a little old and could use some updates but everything else about is great. Very friendly and helpful staff. Amazing ocean view. Food was delicous. If you are on a budget and want an all inclusive this is the place to go. I would definitely come back again.

Room and snorkeling was the good part. We stayed on the ninth floor so the room had a great view and lots of room. Very outdated. They mislead you on your website by stating “ room service” “ stocked fridge” Those we’re not true. Food was horrible except for the reservable restaurant which was ok. Supposedly you can order off the menu in the regular dining room but depends who you ask. We could one day. But others we were told “no”. Most of the staff was rude and inattentive. Checkin took forever even though we were second in line and did the online pre check. Most of staff we encountered did not speak much English. We will go back to Cozumel but will find someplace else to stay!

Excellent location, nice beach area. Good snorkeling right in front of the resort. Unfortunately, the wind came up on the second day and blew the sargassum on to the beach, but that's not the resorts fault. The food at the buffet was typical buffet food. The a la carte restaurant was very good but only got to eat there once in 3 days. The thing I would like to see the resort address is allowing people to "reserve" loungers and palapas overnight. I accept getting up early in the morning and going to get a spot but letting people leave their things overnight and keeping a spot indefinitely should not be allowed. The people doing it should be ashamed of themselves because it is rude and inconsiderate. Everyone should have equal opportunity to use the facilities. El Cozumeleno....do something about it!!

We had a wonderful time at El Coz. Staff is super friendly, beach and snorkeling are fantastic. Morning omelets are great. If you don’t like what’s in the buffet you can order from the dining room. Rooms are a bit weathered but they are clean. This was our 4th stay at El Coz. If you are looking for fancy don’t stay here. But if you are looking for a low key, fantastic beach, budget friendly vacation, this is a great place to stay.

We had a really good time! It was our first time to the island and everyone is friendly and very attending. Resort was really nice. Our room was a little dated and the beds were hard(but we are spoiled at home with a sleep # bed), But overall nice. We had an amazing waiter that treated us like royalty! Aldo! He was the best! We were a little disappointed that there wasn't any entertainment at night but that was ok because a short $10 taxi ride to downtown will get you lots of great entertainment! Probably the most frustrating thing was it took well over an hour to check in. I was hot and ready to be on vacation and it seemed like it took forever. But I wouldn't let that stop me from staying again.

The room was clean but dated, paint chipping, moldy a/c vent, damp smell, door didn’t properly seal and deadbolt did not work. The shower door rail was broken so door didn’t slide. The rooms do not come with mini bars unless you book the sky premium suite, that room does have a minibar but it comes EMPTY, it’s 18USD daily for them to restock it with three beers three sodas and two snacks, this alone should tell the customer the type of property this is. Check in took 1:22 hours even when they had multiple ppl working they just use an archaic way of paper and carbon copy system. The restaurant only had 3 high chairs for toddlers but during my stay there were at least 12 kids who used them so a lot of parents waited or ate with a toddler on their lap. The food was repetitive, spaghetti, fish filet, chicken with bone, they only changed the sauce on top for variety I’ve stated in multiple all inclusive resorts in the Mexican Caribbean and this is by far the worst customer service, quality, and attention, they would have to be a lot cheaper to justify their sub par quality

The rooms are very outdated. The customer service is sub par. Stood in line for an hour and a half to check in (after we did the precheck on line). My husbands key never worked he took it to the desk and they tried to reprogram 7 times never worked. So he left it up at the desk. When we went to check out they said they didnt have it and tried to charge me for it . Wait staff was awesome!!!

Staff was great. Beside front desk and managment. Food was exactly the same day after day all three meals. Bed was a rock and old as is the rooms. Needs some much needed love and attention before I we will go back again. This was our 4th stay here and its gone down hill. Front desk was like talking to robots. Went three days without a safe because the lock was broke and no one at the front desk would do anything beside put my room number down with nothing being done. Yes that all the front desk can do but the 4rd day I waited for the guest service managment. He was on a over 1 hour breakfast break. I sit there looking at the front desk. One of the front desk people came out and grabbed a new lock and key out of that desk and gave it to someone to replace. Spent a good portion of that morning after already telling them three days in a row it needed fix. Having to sit right there till they decided I wasnt leaving. Then it got fixed. I payed to be there without that much time doing the job I payed you to do. Dont stay here its falling apart. Lots of people we talked to had to change rooms. Because managment is not doing the upkeep needed for a resort. Its in sad shape. They have loads of day campers that the staff makes sure is taken care of. Guess if that what is important then became a beach resort. Not the hotel resort you are. Besides the other service people were all great. Besides front desk and hotel managment. That is the biggest failure I have ever seen at a resort.

Was overcharged then everybody else here no coffee pot no refrigerator no hot water. Food was terrible., but the staff were nice. But would never go back and would tell my friends not to go there.

An older resort with a great beach and staff. Rooms need remodeling but are clean. All inclusive meal are just ok but we normally ate out at nights. Check in/out was simple with no surprises. Dive shop onsite which is excellent. In short, I can’t complain about the bang for the dollar but if your expectations are high, search elsewhere.

This was our second year in a row staying here. The staff on the most part is friendly and tries their best to do a good job. Language can still be an issue. Our person who cleaned our room did a very good job. Overall, they had cut their staff from last year, and this put a lot on the existing staff. The food was not as good as last year. It was mostly greasy and under cooked often, and it even made us ill and a few other people that we talked to were ill as well. They list the amenities on the website and in their brochures, and what you Expedia list as well, and many of what they list they do not have. This did not bother me so much last year as the weather was better, but if they actually had had some of the listed amenities they would have been much appreciated this year. One of those amenities is nightly entertainment. They did not have that last year, nor this year. Also, the upkeep of the building is deteriorating very badly. It is a beautiful area, but upkeep needs more attention.
