"We had a great stay! The rooms were clean but some basic things didn't work well like the sink drains and the light in our bathroom. There was a musty odour but I hear they're renovating soon. The staff were amazing - everyone was so kind and friendly and helpful. Food was good, and the pools were lovely! Overall a great choice, perfect if you have kids."

"Property is beautiful and luxurious. Our vacation included The Springs, Nayara, mi Amor, Tabacon. Liked...the big rooms with view of volcano from bed. The vast manmade pools as well as the water slide are highlights like a waterpark. The activity center seems engaging, we didn't do many besides the big cat feeding. It was a spectacular experience seeing with the animals. What we didn't like... feels like staff here was lacking around the pool area and never left their bar nest. Also compared...

"The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the food was good with plenty of options to choose from. The entertainment was enjoyable but could use some improvement, as it felt a bit slow at times. The resort itself could definitely benefit from some updates. Our blackout curtains didn’t work, and the regular curtains were ripped, which took away from the overall experience. Despite those issues, the staff’s excellent service and kindness made our stay Enjoyable"

"I really enjoyed my stay at Occidental Papagayo overall. The staff was wonderful and the property was nice and secluded, maybe a little more than I realized it would be. There were lots of travel costs going back and forth but plenty of transportation options. The amenities are cool but I didn't read the book.
