"Great location, one of the closest hotels to Dogo Onsen. The staff are very friendly and professional, the onsite restaurant served a fusion ( French and Japanese) dinner and a buffet breakfast. We (a family with 1 adult daughter ) enjoyed the 2 night stay at this hotel, I highly recommend Chaharu ！"

"The owner is so friendly and helpful. The lobby area with dining and kitchen resources feels very cozy and comfortable. The location is extremely convenient, just a short couple minute walk from the famous Dogo Onsen, and there is also plenty of nice shops nearby - a beautiful to explore beyond that neighborhood as well. "This hotel must have once been a grand establishment, but unfortunately the years have not been too kind to it. Many parts of the hotel are showing their age, and the place now feels too large and empty for the amount of business it sustains. We do want to give credit to the hotel staff for their kind service, and the rooms are really spacious even by Western standards. "The rooms were clean and as expected. The bathrooms and toilets were fine as well. The staff was pleasant. It was advertised that there was a restaurant and even on a chalkboard outside, there were daily specials written but we were told there was no food for purchase. This was a challenge given the remote location of the hostel and that restaurants closed very early. We did find a grocery store that closed at 7pm. "A museum by Tado Ando changed for the right reasons into a hotel far away from no where... the air conditioning is so loud that makes you very uncomfortable sleeping with it’s grilling sound. If you’re a golfer, heavy sleeper and wished to stay a night in a museum that’s the place to be"
