"I stayed at Sands in 2018 and went back with my sister November 2025. Everything was exactly as I remembered it!!! The best thing about the Sands is the staff. Front desk and Hemingways are super, but a special shout-out to Jose and the guys on the beach! I lost my phone (with all of my son's wedding photos that I hadn't had a chance to back up) in the ocean in a waterproof cover. "The rooms are spotless. The beds are comfortable. All in working order. Check in was a delight. Gail was so welcoming and informative of places to eat and other hotspots on the island worth checking out. I also had great experiences with Ruth and Shawnette. This place is safe for solo travellers. They have security and close the gates at night. There are a few dogs outside the hotel grounds, but they are friendly, just in need of food and attention. The resort has golf cart service to the beach....
