Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

Chelsea Hotel, Toronto

8/10 Good
"After arriving in Toronto, we went directly to the hotel. We asked if we could check in early and they approved it without issue - it was 2 hours early. The next morning I called down to ask if we could get a late checkout and they approved an hour without issue. We were also able to use the concierge to hold our bags while we went and did activities and they held our bags for around 8hrs. The customer service was greatly appreciated."

Madison Manor Boutique Hotel

Madison Manor Boutique Hotel

8/10 Good
"Great location, a block from the subway/bus, across the street from Univ of Toronto. As many reviewers have noted, there is no elevator, and the stairs are steep. Parking isn't bad, although if you arrive late you have to walk all the way around the block to get from the parking lot to the hotel. Some nearby restaurants, although the only thing we found open for breakfast was Tim Hortons. The two things we didn't expect were (1) the room was cold and the thermostat was in a locked box, set at 69 degrees, which I find chilly and (2) Saturday night there was a VERY loud concert nearby (maybe in the bar downstairs) that woke me up at 3am and didn't stop until 4am. The room itself was OK - it's a bit worn, but nothing too bad. Would I stay there again? Tradeoff of a relatively reasonable price & great location vs. convenience of an elevator and convenient parking - and the risk of being up with very loud music."
