"The hotel location was excellent, with easy access to the train station. The breakfast at this hotel was excellent too. However, the Annex building was lacking proper maintenance. E.g. the air conditioning did not work; the bathroom sink did not drain properly; the carpet was grungy and dirty."

I asked him to recommend a good Japanese whisky and expected he might suggest the most expensive option, but instead he recommended one of the more affordable choices on the menu—and it turned out to be excellent. "
