"Clean room, staff were excellent…..disappointed with hotel bar & restaurant……didn’t serve evening meals & bar closed early. Mainly disappointed that when booking & checking in that nothing was mentioned about the current refurb work where work started at 8am both mornings! It wasn’t cheap to stay & I would have expected a bit of a heads up & we could have found somewhere else a bit quieter,"

"Room was perfect. Lovely products in the new-feeling bathroom. Plenty of room and super view across the square. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly prepared with a great choice. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Really enjoyed my 2-night stay."

"I checked in and was given the wrong room. The staff quickly dealt with the issue. However, it was on the 7th Floor, which was still being fitted out. My room was completed but there were a few snags, including the bathroom door not being hung properly, so it didn't open properly."

"Having stayed at STG on several occasions I was always happy with my stay there. I booked a one night stay there on the 22nd April as I was working in the west end. I was late arriving around midnight I went through the self check in ok. I tried to buy a drink from the vending machine I didn’t work as asked a member of the desk he didn’t seem to be bothered and just shrugged and said it wasn’t working, not to worry I thought will get a drink in my room. Get to the room no means to make a hot or even a bottle of water. I went back to reception and asked were can I get a drink! The bar he said wile talking to his colleague. I went to the bar £1.95 for a tiny bottle of water. I had to be back on site early so left the hotel at 5.30 to top it all there was no hot water so had to have a cold shower I let it run for 5mins just incase it would run through it was still cold all in all I wouldn’t book here again "

"The location of this hotel is great, not as expensive as other hotels in the area. But the hotel rooms are dated, they’re smaller than they look in the pictures, there’s like a weird smell on the towels and bed sheets. Staff was somewhat helpful, it was just an okay stay."

"We were very early to check-in and just wanted to leave our bags we were offered an early check-in if we accepted an upgrade at a price, we were under no time pressure so declined to upgrade but we were then immediately checked in and given our rooms, I didn't like that as it suggested the hotel were trying to get more money out of us, a little thing but left us feeling a little uncomfortable. Other than that although the room was very small it was OK, nothing special but OK."
