I was surprised (and not in the best way) about this property and stay. I'll start with the positives that its located next to the Majestic Elegance that I had the pleasure of staying at and it was by far one of the best experiences I had in Cancun. So when we arrive at the Mirage my expectations were high but were let down. It took us an hour almost to be checked in as we arrived at the check in time of 4p. The room we received was considered an upgrade but the swim out we thought we were getting was really a plunge pool, that did not have a privacy wall and everyone walk-in past could just walk into our space. The food was not as flavorful, the property still look like it was under construction and the greenery looked dead and unkept. Our butler service was a nice touch but we mostly did everything on our own. There was no perk to having an Adult only side because it was a good mixture of children at the bars and the restaurants near them. Upon our check out we overheard a couple debating about their experience and partial refund. I do agree while the place is listed as a 5 star it gave 3 stars at best. I usually have photos from all our trips but because of the experience I chose not to capture any because we were not completely satisfied. What I can commend is the staff was very nice and I hope Majestic continues to support them because I know this transition and opening isn't the best experience for all involved.
