"I had an okay stay here, largely thanks to the attentive and professional staff who really do their best to look after guests. However, there are several areas where the hotel could improve the guest experience. The most disappointing aspect was the pool area. "Overall the Riu was ok. Nice atmosphere and the workers are very pleasant. Food was descent. I think the Riu needs more visible security 24 hours a day. My neighbors were arguing n fighting one night for awhile and not a security in sight! Also the swim up pool was a little too small. Felt like we was on top of each other. There’s no room service. "We had a wonderful time. The staff were so friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and so were the drinks. I got to paddleboard every day and we went on some great excursions. The beach was beautiful, however there is a fair amount of seagrass (not floating seaweed) in the swimming area. You just have to navigate around it a bit. It was my first time being at an all inclusive and I really enjoyed it. "

Our room was just ok, the sink was stopped up and it took 3 calls to the front desk to have someone come and fix it. Also a light fixture fell off the wall and almost hit my son in the head. "I want to start off saying that the staff and food were excellent. ALL workers worked hard considering the circumstances. We didn’t realize this property was closed for renovations and reopening after the devastation of the hurricane. When we purchased the package, we were under the assumption that all advertised amenities were available and READY when we arrived. However, we quickly learned otherwise. There was quite a bit of damage done to the building and repairs were still being made. ...

"My bathroom toilet got stopped up a few times. It was fixed right away. Wish there were more restaurants on site and that access was granted to the other hotels on the strip. All in all a great vacation will be returning. "
