"This property is amazing, I already want to go back. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and have everything you need. The amenities are awesome and smell wonderful. The private outside hot springs Onsen was heaven, we used it every morning and every night. It was chilly outside but our room was warm, beds were comfy. The staff is incredible, always there to help or guide you to whatever you need. The meals are absolutely delicious, and there is a lot of food. Traditional robes (provided) must be worn for meals. Please note, meals are traditional Japanese meals, seafood, rice etc. We saw many plates from other guests not even touched. This made us sad as the chef prepared gorgeous meals and some people didn’t even try them. We tried and ate everything, as it was delicious and we knew what to expect. The server for our party of 4 was so lovely. She made sure we had everything we needed. She served us for our entire stay and she made our meals so enjoyable. The staff always knew when we were coming or going, and our shoes were ready for us, or someone was there to hold the door. There is nice lounge for coffee in the morning, or just to sit. The hotel smells amazing too. I can’t express how lovely this place is. We did use the public baths, we had our own, but I am sure they are as lovely as this hotel. We would and probably will stay here again, it is that wonderful. If you go be prepared to be treated and fed like a king/queen!"

"Had a great 1 night stay with the wife and 2 teenagers in a Premier Deluxe Japanese Western room. Booked this as the one expensive special treat night for this trip. Room was clean, in excellent condition, very spacious and looked just like the photos on the website. The room having its own outdoor private onsen bath was fabulous. Dinner was excellent with every course looking and tasting amazing. Breakfast was also good with lots of options for the buffet. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Just what I was hoping our stay would be like."

"This was our favourite stay for our whole Japan trip. We stayed at 3 other hotels. This place and area is unbeatable and i wish I would’ve booked a second night. I didn’t know that I would want to live this day again. The staff were ridiculously kind and helpful. At the end of our stay, I asked which bus and where I should take to get to Hakone-Yumi to and she literally left her post and started running to help me catch the bus. My son enjoyed free ice cream from the vending machine (which he loved). The band in the lobby before dinner was such a nice touch. The dinner and breakfast were perfect. Honestly, just the perfect relaxing spot for us. Would go back for sure. "

"Hotel was set against beautiful mountains with green lush landscape all around. The onsen was a wonderful treat at the beginning and end of each day. Rooms were traditional and clean with very nice bathroom toiletries. The food was amazing and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. "

"This small hotel is an incredibly peaceful oasis. The food offerings were absolutely impeccable! There are no gym facilities but the private onsen is a wonderful way to end your day after touring the surroundings of Hakone. The care and attention from the staff was top notch! Our tea ceremony shortly after arriving was a wonderful way to get introduced to the hotel and the types of tea and wagashi available to us during our stay. Dinner was a different 10 course meal of fine dining every night with the dishes prepared by the staff on the island directly in front of your seating. Drink (alcoholic or not) pairings are given for about 1/2 the dishes too! An open bar after your meal is also a nice way to wind down before bedtime, with locally drinks mixed for you by the bartender. The only drawback to this hotel was that its location leaves you dependent on taking a local bus or finding a local taxi. Taxi service is very inconsistent as there are simply not enough drivers in the area relative to the demand for taxis, especially when it rains! That’s an issue for all hotels in the region. The hotel is about 0.5km away from the bus stop but it’s downhill or uphill depending on which way you are going. It’s only a few hundred meters further to walk directly to the ropeway to start your loop around the key visitor spots in the area. "

"Great place for the price. Step up from a hostel that works well for families and has a really nice Onsen for private use. Breakfast was also really nice! Service was also very friendly and helpful. Downsides are the location and the lack of shower in rooms. "
