"Excellent all around, the best part no children, don’t even bother visiting the other complexes unless you just wanna hear children screaming every second of your life. The adults only hotel is also very modern and way way way nicer! No need to leave the hotel. We enjoyed the free upgrade to the room with the swim up pool! Will definitely come back!"

"This was our second stay at Barcelo Maya Palace. We love having so many options and being able to play at each of the resort's pools, water slide parks, and beaches. The resort's location is also so nice and close to the Xplor and Xel-ha parks. One disappointment this visit was we weren't able to get a reservation at the teppanyaki restaurant, even thought we inquired when we were checking in."

"We had a great 2 weeks! The staff all worked hard to meet any needs we had. The food was good for an AI. We stayed on the seaside , the only complaint was the walls between the rooms we not sound proof at all. If I were to come back I would stay on the Palms side."

"Very disappointed with this resort. I chose it based on reviews that did not match reality. The rooms were clean, but the bathrooms were very outdated. There was no visible security, guests were fighting around 2–3 AM after parties, and no staff came to check on them, which felt unsafe and disrupted sleep. The beach also had no security. Buffet food was limited, soups were overly salty, and items were not refilled if you came later. Not suitable for a relaxing vacation—more of a party place....

"Shower master room BROKE. Bath clogged. Couldn’t take a shower first 2 days. There is no beach 5 min walking distance as offered."

"Not even sure how to review this place. It was a pretty good stay until we got robbed. Had 2 rooms hit in 2 different buildings. It was obviously staff as I don’t know who else would have access to all the rooms. All of our bags were obviously rifled through. The staff didn’t seem too concerned when we told them. Seems like theft is common according to other reviews. Keep all valuables on you the entire time. The buffet was average, restaurants were good. The sargassum was especially bad and the...

"Location is amazing. So nice to be a few steps from Jungle Cafe! Pool and beach have great set ups. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Kitchen had cooking necessities. Only complaints (and hate to complain about paradise, but if this means a lot to you) was that sick sick? What’s going on? Yeah does anyone at home now?
