We had a wonderful stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum. The hotel itself was very clean, and one of our absolute favorite parts was the walk from the main area to the pool and beach—it’s a beautiful jungle path that really makes the experience feel unique and peaceful. Along the way, we saw lots of coatis, which were so fun and added to the whole nature vibe. The restaurants were very good overall, and we upgraded to the Privilege package, which was definitely worth it—especially for access to the Bloved restaurant, which we loved. The beach was absolutely beautiful. We spent so much time just sitting, relaxing, and enjoying the view. The breakfast buffet was also a highlight—very expansive with tons of options, so there was always something for everyone. The only downside for us was the amount of smoking throughout the resort. Unfortunately, we often couldn’t leave our balcony door open because of the cigarette smell, and it was noticeable in many areas. It’s a bit of a drawback, especially in such a stunning natural setting. Overall, a great stay with beautiful surroundings, good food, and a relaxing atmosphere—with just that one area for improvement.

We had such a great time visiting Catalonia Royal Tulum. The beach was beautiful, even with the sargassum in the mornings that the resort crew worked hard to clean up day in and day out. The service stood out, with everyone being happy to help and very welcoming — Quetzabel at the buffet and Jonny at the pool bar were always brightening our day. The food was good as well. We found ourselves getting the best meals at the buffet more often than not, but we were able to try every restaurant and were satisfied with all of our meals. None in particular blew us away, aside from maybe Steakville. We recommend the Rauxa show, as it was definitely a sight to see. The rooms were in very good condition, no complaints here at all!! Best part about them perhaps is they are stowed away deep in the jungle and about a 10 minute walk from the beach, including 2-3 coati sightings each time we walked to and from the beach to our rooms. Quite a unique experience. The shows at night by the pool were entertaining as well. I’d say this is far from a party resort, as often times the entertainment would die down past 11 PM, but it fit the bill for what we were looking for. Overall, we had a great stay at Catalonia Royal Tulum and recommend it for whoever may be reading this.

This was our 5th consecutive year visiting this resort. The staff here is amazing and really makes the difference for us when choosing our annual vacation destination. We have so many to thank. Juana and team for maintaining our room perfectly, Daniel and team for their gracious assistance in the pool and beach areas, Yolasef and Esperenza for the amazing spa experiences, Daniela and Joseph from Guest Services for their excellent support and daily kind wishes, the fabulous restaurant chefs and front end staff Quetzabel, Angeles, Sandy, Ana, Juan, Carmen, Carlos and their teams for their usual above and beyond service, Ezequiel and the Front Desk team for their amazing support and professional care, the Porters, Servers and incredible Bartenders who blessed us with perfect Margaritas every time, Gracias to all. Management should be proud of the hospitality standard the staff here provide. See you next year!

This was our 7th stay at the Catalonia Royal Tulum. We love this property. We even saw the monkey on our way to breakfast! Staff was excellent as always. Some special shout outs go to Angeles at the Palapa who greeted us by NAME every morning and lunch --so sweet! And Miguel at lunch and the Steakville--- so nice and friendly and always bringing us more cervasa! David was a riot at the Adelita with recommendations on the menu and excellent service! And last but not least we loved Betzabe at the BeLoved by the beach---so sweet and attentive. We felt so special all week. The only thing we were surprised by was the fact that this was our 7th time there was not recognized. Expedia gave us a room upgrade which was great but the staff didnt acknowledge our 7th stay. No big deal but it would have been nice. Great weather and staff and property! we will be back!

Our room was a swamp. The AC blew but it never removed the moisture from the air. Our clothes were damp, the bed sheets were damp. Everything was damp. Water dripped off the face of the drinks refrigerator. The sliding door was fogged in the morning. My phone wouldn't charge because of the humidity in the room. (Charge port detected moisture) We had to buy a wireless charger. So no rest in the room, but the garden view was quite pleasant!

We had amazing weather the full time we were there, the amenities kept us cool. The AC in our room wasn’t cold, but there was a fan, so that helped circulate the air. We burned pretty bad so had some uncomfortable nights but was able to purchase additional sunscreen and after sun care at decent price. The buffet was the best — great options and variety, dinner less so, unfortunately. The steakhouse was a complete miss. Other dinner options (Italian, Asian and international) were just okay. We avoided the Mexican restaurant, as we saw reviews that it was very bad. Wish they leaned into authentic Mexican more. Would have preferred the buffet for dinner, but understand food waste/need for more structured service. All of the staff were amazing; welcoming, quick and efficient. Mixed drinks were delicious, although all very high in sugar. Felt very safe on premises. Would return!

This is our third time visiting the Catalonia Royal Tulum. It’s excellent all around. The staff is professional and attentive. The food is awesome, and the rooms and physical facility are well serviced/maintained. It has one of the nicest beaches in Mexico. If you really want to relax and eliminate all sources of stress, go to the Catalonia Royal Tulum.

The breakfast menu had a wonderful selection for any taste at all. It was fresh and the staff was so friendly and helpful in every way. Our room was clean every day with a little special touch that made you feel pampered. We definitely highly recommend this place. It was a dream vacation.

Long walks to amenities. Food at individual restaurants mediocre. Got food poisoning first day after buffet. Linens in rooms need replacing. Most of staff friendly. Long trip from airport.

This was my 3rd visit to this resort. We were met with the same amazing customer service as always and it continued throughout our stay. We noticed a few differences from previous years, and some aspects were pleasantly the same. Food: almost all really good food, as usual. The Steakville restaurant is one to avoid. A good cut of beef has proven to be hard to find at an all-inclusive resort in Mexico. The other restaurants were really good and had lots of variety. It is definitely best to make your reservations as quickly as you can upon arrival for the best dinner choices. Room: The room was quite dated but comfortable. We were told upon arrival that we were being given an upgrade (both rooms that we booked), but they were clearly the rooms we paid for so I'm not sure why that was even mentioned. Grounds: The building and grounds are kept so so clean; this property is really an amazing little gem in the jungle surrounded by lush greenery and lots of different wildlife. Overall we loved it. Still hate fighting for a beach/pool chair but that is a problem everywhere it seems. Resorts need to develop a fair system for that. We saw several towels on chairs all day and no people on them. Shoutout to the two wonderful ladies that were working in the buffet restaurant by the pool. Made us feel so special every time we arrived!
