El servicio y atencion del personal es excelente, todos super amables. La comida es deliciosa, las chicas del Kids Club son fabulosas! Recomendaciones: tener una piscina climatizada, tener en cada restaurante una maquina de cafe, asegurar que en el resta de tacos siempre haya todo lo de la carta (es el resta que mas nos gustó ademas del italiano).

The service here was incredible. All the staff were absolutely wonderful. Can’t say enough good things about them all!!! The property is GORGEOUS. Calm, relaxing vibe. The only downfall would be the beach ( or lack thereof ). The sargassum has completely taken over ( through no fault of the resorts obviously). If it weren’t for that - this place would be 120% perfect !!

The property is nice but the alcohol is not normal even though it is coming out of an name brand bottle, it's not. The same goes for what they have on hand to mix with the alcohol, it's awful. Other than that the place was nice.

We really liked this resort and felt it was an excellent value for what we paid. The staff was very friendly, the food was very good, and the taco house became our go-to spot, although we wished it stayed open later than 12–5. A couple of our restaurant meals took well over an hour, so just know you might be hanging out for a while when you sit down. It’s very family friendly, which is great, but it also means kids tend to join in on most activities. The ocean water here isn’t very clear, so this wouldn’t be the first choice if you’re hoping to do a lot of snorkeling, unless you book an excursion somewhere else. Overall we're very happy with the experience.

We stayed at Margaritaville Island Reserve Cancun in 2021 and had such a great experience that we returned in December 2025 and even brought extended family with us. Sadly, this visit was extremely disappointing and nowhere near the quality we once experienced. The resort has declined significantly in almost every area. Food options were very limited and the overall quality was poor. Many dishes lacked variety, and even worse, a lot of ingredients simply weren’t available — both at restaurants and even the smoothie bar — so items on the menus often couldn’t actually be ordered. The “resort credits” were also misleading in value, as they can only be used on a very small selection of snacks and beer at Joe Merchant’s, making them basically useless. Service and atmosphere weren’t the same either. While the restaurant wait staff were friendly and did their best, many other staff members felt unwelcoming and unhappy to be there, which really affected the overall vibe. Despite the front desk insisting it was a “busy” period, the resort felt empty and lifeless, with limited daytime activities and almost no meaningful evening entertainment. The beach was another

First day we arrived to the hotel. The bathtubs was leaking water and the whole trip, the TV was not stable (keep flashing) cause they are using the Internet tv. Pools was small and morning buffet was only offer limited selection. I strongly believe this hotel will lack staffs. Front desk people are did not provide us the resort credit $100 when we check out.

The food options were very limited and they often did not have items available which were on the menu. The breakfast was particularly bad as the options were extremely limited and not replenished quickly (always empty trays of food no matter what time you went). The rooms are quite dated but clean. The property itself is well maintained however the beach was not useable due to seaweed and garbage washing up on shore (very limited staff to clean it up). The $500 resort credit though Expedia was misleading and very limited in the way that it could be utilized so we did not use it as it’s not a true resort credit. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful however the check in process was slow and not very welcoming. Also, for being a Margaritaville resort, the Margaritas served were underwhelming. The resort feels more like a 4 star as opposed to a 5 star.

This resort is small and quiet. Great restaurants, and bars. Friendly staff and willing to assist you when needed. The beach area was nice except for the water is not the caribbean blue for swimming because of the sargassum and rain run off. The road into the resort is in pretty bad shape and in need of repairs. Overall, great place to stay.

It was our second time staying here, and while nothing was terrible, the quality of everything seemed to have slipped a little bit. It was just a lot of little annoyances that will keep us from coming back here again. The service from the staff was not as friendly as the first time. The service at all the restaurants was slow, and the servers seemed a little aggravated (or overworked). There were a few nice servers, but overall not the same as last time. The restaurants were running out of a lot of items as well or just didn't have them. A little disappointing because there are not that many places to eat to begin with. The coffee shop closed earlier than advertised. The TV service was not working, it kept glitching and pixellating in all the rooms, we had 3 different rooms. So our kids couldn't watch NFL games, and we couldn't watch movies as we had hoped. The pools were also not heated this time; the water was cold, so swimming was not fun either. This was kinda important. So it was a lot of little things that made the vacation not great. It wasn't a terrible experience, but this place is slipping, and we won't be coming back.

The resort looks polished, but the experience felt inconsistent. Housekeeping staff and many restaurant servers worked hard, but some front-line interactions, especially at check-in, felt reserved rather than welcoming. We had requested early check-in, and although the resort seemed quiet throughout the day, we received no update. We eventually went to the front desk ourselves when it was nearly the regular check-in time, and only then were told the room was ready. They had mentioned we would get an email update, but none came, which made the process feel unclear. Food quality varied. At Flank & Lola’s, the vongole pasta was excellent one night but came out completely differently the next day—with mussels instead of clams and an Alfredo-style sauce. The server said they had run out of clams, yet the seafood risotto still had them. Food was slow even when restaurants weren’t busy. Smoothies tasted artificial, and the coffee was very light with less friendly service at the coffee bar. Joe Merchant had limited options, and snacks required many points. Since you can’t see any itemized deductions, points drop quickly and it’s hard to know exactly how they were used. The timeshare offer felt a bit sneaky, and asking about a couple’s massage offer led only to unnecessary discussion and didn’t leave us feeling good. We had a $500 resort credit, but it wasn’t mentioned at check-in and was split into restrictive categories that couldn’t be combined, which made it difficult to use in

I wanted to share an honest review of our stay at Margaritaville Cancun, because while there were some positives, there were also several disappointing aspects that future guests should be aware of. Unfortunately, the food was the biggest letdown of our trip. With the exception of some really good wings and ribs that my husband had, the food overall was very poor. Breakfast options were extremely limited, and bacon was almost never available. When it was, it wouldn’t be replenished unless you specifically asked, and even then it was hit or miss. I tried going both early and later in the morning with the same result. Even more concerning, many guests we spoke with—including myself—experienced stomach aches and diarrhea, which we strongly believe was caused by the food. On a positive note, the housekeeping staff does an excellent job keeping the resort very clean, and that effort does not go unnoticed. Service, however, was inconsistent. Most of the bartenders we encountered were rude and clearly unhappy in their roles. That said, one bartender named Abdiel truly stood out in the best way. He was kind, personable, and genuinely seemed to enjoy his job. He made guests feel welcome, which sadly was not the norm elsewhere. The late-night front desk staff were also rude during our interactions. Additionally, the main bar closes sharply at 10:00 PM, after which there is only a very small sports bar open until midnight. On more than one occasion, this bar closed 10 minutes early

The whole resort was well kept, manicured, and adorable. Sadly, the beach was infested with seaweed that had blown in due to winds and rain, so we were unable to swim there.
