"Our stay at Bahia Principe Explore Coba was okay. Check-in took a group of us over an hour. There was rarely staff at guest services, and we would wait for a while before anyone would come help us. Even some of the staff tended to be rude at times, but most gave good service. À La Carte at the Japanese Restaurant was the best food we had the whole trip. The only thing we found a little less than our expectations was that some evening entertainment had additional charges and the buffet was largely the same each day, although the food was really good. The public bathrooms were gross but all public bathrooms are- bring disposable toilet covers/witch hazel/wipes/hand sanitizer/etc. There is an option to stay in a teepee by the bathrooms.
