"There was no-one around at Check-in and check-out and any other time in-between. The pool was green and spa not working and main building locked and empty. Our room keys were left in a basket at the front door. There was wi-fi but no password and therefore no wi-fi. The published numbers did not answer. The rooms seemed clean enough but it was a ghost town! I am surprised that this was still listed on hotels.com!"

"At many places water is a scarcity. There were 2 bottles in the room. Coffee, tea, water and ice were available 24/7. The terrace was perfect for relaxing. Great location to restaurants and the waterfront attractions."

"Stayed in 2 different rooms on 2 different nights and your experience will vary based on where your room is in the lodge. The only complaint we had is that the people above us on the second night were walking around at 4:30 in the morning and the walls and floors are so thin that it will wake you up and make it impossible to fall back asleep if you’re a light sleeper. The location itself is great and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. But at the end of the day you’re looking for a place to sleep. So if you get woken up and can’t fall back asleep because people are not being respectful of others that early in the morning, then it will make for a not so fun day after."

"The property was beautiful and staff were wonderful. I loved the easy proximity to the Stowe path and it’s on one of the most scenic river sections. The room was spacious and bed extremely comfortable. We stayed on the first floor and had access to outside which we loved as it accommodated our busy in and out schedule. The breakfast was fantastic and was a fabulous start to our day! I would have rated a 5 but there were two downfallls 1. The hot tub was milky so did not use but we honestly usually don’t but the second and biggest issue was that having someone in the room above sounded like herd of elephants every evening and morning and I’m a light sleeper and on vacation found I was woke up every morning at 6 and the noise above was so annoying that I was now subjected to following someone else’s early morning rise times or their bedtime. Such a shame since the room was newly renovated and so warm and welcoming as was everything else about this property."
