The property was central to many things, and restaurants, laundry services, convenience stores were all within a block or so. There was a nearby club so if you are a light sleeper bring earplugs. The hot water takes a long time but that's not an issue if you do cold showers to wake up. Overall good value if you value location over other factors.

we had black mold on the closet wall and the window in the bathroom was missing the glass so noise was bad but I had ear plugs, and if someone wanted to get into your room it would be easy to use a credit card to open no dead bolt locks, everything you need is close by including beach two blocks away.

Stay away

Put in a room that had no glass in the window, and they hit it behind a curtain. They wouldn’t switch my room, that area is not a safe area at night at all, and the hotel is near one of the loudest clubs that play electronic music till 3 in the morning. STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL Or you will be sorry

EXCELLENT for the price! :-) The only thing that was not accurate is the impression of a private beach from the advertisement picture (you have to walk a block and the beach is public). The "noise", sometimes at night from a club nearby mentioned in some reviews exist, but is minimal, or non-existent other nights. Bring a couple of $0.50 cents soft earplugs and you won't notice it. The place was clean, safe, accessible, and close to the action, but not on the busy street, I saw people working on maintenance every day, the room was cleaned only when I left the sign "clean room" on the door, which is expected.

El personal es amable, exceptuando a la recepcionista del sábado al medio día. Incluso dejo su lugar de trabajo La habitación es limpia pero el tapete de baño estaba mojado y la puerta de la regadera estaba floja. Por lo demás, alberca, desayuno incluido, todo bien.

The property lost power , they didn’t help at nothing on all , they didn’t had the possibility to relocate on another hotel … not power , not air conditioner, not water … you couldn’t take showers, you couldn’t sleep in suffocate room, the toilet was full of pee & poo about 3 days , you couldn’t charge your cell phone..so , my staying wasn’t nothing fine… was a bad experience in this Balam playa hotel … I won’t be there never again 👎

Esto no es hotal, ni siquiera hostal es la 1er experiencia tan mala reservando a través de ustedes, sin luz, sin agua, llegue a las 2 de la mañana porque se retraso mi vuelo y como me movía a esas horas, pero siempre que reservado con ustedes por sencillo que sea ok, y este lugar es deplorable

Se entrego el refrigerador sucio, solo un pequeño jabón para 4 personas, la persona en el check- out no estaba, se dejó la llave de la habitación con la limpieza, llegando te dicen que si se rompe y ensucia la toalla se paga extra( toalla con un hueco, se reportó para tener conocimiento), al sentarse en el baño la taza se movía, ( igual se dijo para evitar algún pago sin haber causado algún daño), para rematar al llegar se va la luz (llegue como a las 12am) y nunca regreso( ok aunque no esté en sus manos pues se durmió con calor) te dicen que se 8 a 10 habrá un desayuno incluido continental (pan,café y jugo), llegando el encargado me dijo de 8:30 a 10, no se dio dicho desayuno y el estacionamiento al aire libre que dicen contar, es el parking de enfrente, y tienes que buscar por tu cuenta ( no cuentan con estacionamiento) , me quise bañar y se fue el agua, la piscina con agua turbia. Pésimo servicio, no recomiendo.

Avoid BALAM Hotel, Playa Del Carmen at all costs. This place is disgusting, filthy, and dangerous. Cockroaches everywhere, stained sheets and towels, a broken child-sized toilet, and a “pool” that’s just a dirty tub. The photos online are completely misleading. When rain poured through my ceiling at midnight, the staff didn’t care — the guy just took pictures while my belongings got soaked. The replacement room was just as bad, with what looked like blood stains on the sheets. I didn’t sleep a minute and left first thing in the morning. Do yourself a favor: stay FAR away from this hotel. It is gross, unsafe, and a total scam.

El Hotel es viejo está algo cuidado solo que las instalaciones no están tan bien hay fuga de agua en el lavamanos y la tapa del WC no servía para nada se undia. El desayuno por el precio es aceptable Te dan Tostada con mantequilla y mermelada un café y un jugo de naranja.
