This is our second stay at an El Dorado Resort and we will definitely be going back. One year ago we stayed at the El Dorado Royale, and that property had three resorts on it - beautiful, but a lot of walking. The El Dorado Maroma had a much better beach, but the property with the Royale and the Casitas had more pools. We enjoyed that this resort was smaller and had less people, but still had all the great restaurants, entertaining shows, and the staff went out of their way to get us whatever we needed. We had a wedding ceremony on the beach in Maroma, and it was beautiful! Everything was perfect - this was our favorite vacation spot yet!

Please don’t be mislead by negative reviews regarding the service and quality of the resort. First please understand the model of the hotel which yes it’s tight security but are you telling me you don’t appreciate that? The quality of all food you will eat already included in your nightly stay is really incredible. Yes small portions but quality is more important. I can find one time in 5 days that staff didn’t say hello. So we understand the tipping process in which services are delivered which is customary in the US. You can trust pretty much anyone to get you change for your US dollars. We enjoyed this resort!

The grounds, the staff, and the facilities were all excellent. Only a couple things need improvement and that would be the beach and a buffet. The beach next door was cleaned with a tractor and this one was hand raked. The tractor had a by far, cleaner beach. The lack of a buffet on property meant a limited breakfast and lunch menu which was pretty identical to the other restaurant on property and an hour for each meal. I would have liked a grab and go option to ordering. Regardless, we would definitely return.

We were upgraded to a huge room, enjoyed the beach and main pool and bars, kayaking and included snorkel and drinking catamaran outing. Dinners were good, especially Italian restaurant Mio, Palafitos which cost extra. Mexican and Caribbean restaurants were good also. Had great experience with the spa (extra $) Best lunch was the taqueria. Staff around property were nice and friendly and helpful. They try to upsell a lot for wine or special dinners or to join club, and the included room credit is really just a smaller credit for each of several different extra cost things, not one credit you can apply to one expensive charge. Still our 3 rooms for adult family and the experiences were great for all.

The staff was amazing and made sure we always had what we needed. The room was spotless and maintained throughout the day. The food was really good with a wide variety offered. There are plenty of activities on the property so you can be as busy as you want or just relax by the beach. Would definitely visit again!

Would highly recommend property invest in a pool heater for the colder months as Nov-Feb. the swimming pools were cold. The rest of resort was magnificent along with beaches are extremely beautiful.

This was our first visit to El Dorado Maroma and we loved it! The staff were outstanding. A few people stood out to us. Angel in Limo Limon, Arturo, Israel and Oswaldo with the entertainment staff. Armando and Marco the beach butlers were so helpful. The grounds were beautiful. We will definitely be back!

Place is elite. Access to beach is so close to rooms and restaurants. Service is next level. Francisco and Carlos best bar tenders. Manuel and Marco so helpful setting up beach chairs. Gustavo at the restaurant. Hebert and Liliana at the spa are amazing. Bryan scheduling the massages was great to work with. The food was amazing at all restaurants. The house win is good and if u want to upgrade lots of options. The ability to eat so close to the beach at two restaurants. This is a great place if u don’t want to walk a lot and enjoy great service. Not a mega size hotel but I liked the more intimate higher quality food and service. Highly recommend and hope to go again. Miss it already!!!

I didn't see a hot tub. But I did use the spa that has a jacuzzi hot tub and cold plunge pool. The bars (plural) are fully stocked and the bar tenders are friendly and pour nicely.

Bar none, the nicest resort I’ve ever been to. The staff is amazing. Very friendly people and they really go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with whatever you’re doing or enjoying. The rooms and grounds are impeccable. The food is exceptional. Great service everywhere you go including the beach. My only complaint is their prices at the spa are outrageous. Ballpark $300 for a 90 minute massage is offensive. Other resorts I’ve been to offer the same services for $80. In the NYC area it’s $90-$130 and it’s done by certified massage therapists.

Pros: Very friendly staff. Very delicious food. Beautiful beach. Cons: pool floors are slick tile. Our in room AC leaked condensation into one of our suitcases. The toilet in our room leaked at the floor. No night life! Have to make reservations for dinner each night. Reservations and times were mostly booked up for what we wanted to do. For all-inclusive there were lots of upsells and offers for “additional” services. Expedia gold membership was supposed to get us an automatic upgraded room. When they attempted to upsell our room and I told them we automatically get upgraded because of our gold tier status, they said the upgrade was unavailable. Then he told us we were already upgraded. Yet we were in the least expensive room they offered. Some arrangements had to be made with different representatives. Airport transfer at one desk, use at the included water park Nextdoor at another building, get bags brought down for our departure another building, reservations for dinners back to the other building. Crazy! Overall, still a good experience. Beautiful beach! Great staff! Good food. Just some things could have been better handled. It was still a nice vacation that we enjoyed.

Decent all inclusive. Had issues with room leaking water and bought a romantic dinner on the beach package to have them show up late and for us to get bite up by mosquitos

This property is perfect if you are looking to rest and relax. The location is beautiful, and the resort is small and quiet. Overall the food was higher quality than most all inclusive resorts. This is not a “party” resort.

The service was outstanding. The food in all the restaurants was beautifully served and delicious. The spa provided the best relaxation experience. The beach has white sand and turquoise water. The activities were fun and well programmed.This is a paradise.

We loved our stay at El Dorado Maroma! The resort is the perfect size for a couples getaway. We were very happy with all the additional perks, including the hotel transportation and the catamaran and snorkeling tour. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They worked hard every morning to clear any sargassum that accumulated on the beach. The spa services were top notch and we enjoyed the food at each restaurant. Make sure you visit the Taqueria for lunch. We would definitely recommend staying here!
