Hotel overall was nice. However, one of the reasons we booked was the advertised free shuttle to the airport, but when we arrived, we were told we had missed a window to book and we had to pay ~$85 for transport.

Great ocean view and pool was great. Could definitely use a hot tub unless we didn’t get to explore correctly. Gym was useable and the room was a decent size and had everything we needed.

We stayed at the Beach House location which we really enjoyed. Great table service (shout out to Oliver) at the lounge chairs made this a super enjoyable way to relax. We visited the rooftop pool at the other location one day and really enjoyed the change from the Beach House. Again, service was great, the view was incredible and the pool was very relaxing. I highly recommend the Hyatt Centric hotel if you're looking for a central location in Playa!

This hotel has an amazing location, right on fifth. Very close to some major attractions. The drinks on the roof are really good, and the staff is very nice. I am also a big fan of the temperature of the pool, it was the perfect temperature for it being 30C outside! Would highly recommend Hyatt Centric

Buen hotel para disfrutar de Playa del Carmen. Están cobrando un resort fee sin ser un resort, al preguntar en recepción en realidad es solo por cobrar más, esto aleja a huéspedes que seríamos repetitivos. En fin ojalá eliminen esto para recuperar la percepción valor vs precio.

El hotel es hermoso y muy agradable igual el personal y su trato , pero definitivamente si quieren venir a descansar no es la mejor opción ( demasiado ruido por todos lados ) pero si quieren venir de fiesta es perfecto ya que está a lado del coco bongo y está todo súper céntrico

The best thing about the resort was the location. If you like 5th Avenue/Downtown Playa its the best. Now as for everything else not so much. 1st the staff, left nothing to remember them by. Welcome was lack luster they did not explain anything about the resort and its offerings, albeit i came in after 9pm but information is everything when you are experiencing somewhere new for the first time. I had ask for a quiet room prior to my stay and there was no attempt to honor my request. My luggage had been delayed and i requested toiletries. I was given a toothbrush no toothpaste and a pair of thin slippers...nothing more. The next morning there was construction that began at 7am in the room next door this was after loud music from the rooftop playing well after 1am. Again i went to the front desk andy request was ignored. Emilio stated he would check with the manager. Luckily there was a market next door and i bought some essentials as well as an H&M where my husband and I got some clean clothes as our luggage didn't arrive until after 3pm. This was the fault of Delta not Hyatt Centric. The only kind gesture of the hotel was to have our luggage brought from the beach house location 2 blocks away after the airline delivered to the wrong location of Hyatt. Speaking of the other location i asked several times to move to this location for peace and quiet and was told they were booked. For a Tuesday to Saturday stay in February this seemed highly unlikely nout they continued with.

The hotel room was very nice. It had a large balcony and comfortable furniture. The girl working the front desk when I arrived and who was there every evening was extremely kind and helpful. The location had pro's and con's. It was right in the middle of all the action, shopping, food, transport, and close to the beach. But this meant it was very noisy at night. The hotel provided earplugs, which were a must. And I brought a sound machine. I would not have been able to sleep otherwise. The pool was like an ice bath and way too cold to use. This was February, so maybe it is warmer in the summer months. Seating by the pool was hit or miss, unless you wanted to pay for a cabana. The restaurant was supposed to open at 7AM. The one day I needed to eat at the hotel was for breakfast prior to an 8AM excursion. At 7AM, it was dark and workers were just arriving. There was no way I would have been able to get food in time - I'm not sure when they actually opened. As such, I never ate at the hotel. I was not a fan of the shower - it was a rain shower mounted from the ceiling. Worst invention ever for women not wanting to get their hair wet! A huge plus was access to the Hyatt Beach hotel. I didn't use this much, but appreciated its availability. Overall, it is a beautiful hotel in a great location, but the amenities were not ones I got to enjoy. Hence, 3 stars.

It is a wonderful hotel and the staff is excellent! However the music is super loud and they give you earplugs to help you sleep.

The hotel rooms were really nice, but had a really bad smell of sewers which gave us headaches and nausea. They changed us from the first room, but same problem in the second room and I think all over the downtown hotel. The beach house is completely different. We stay there last year and it was amazing. The hotel staff at the downtown house some were friendly some not as much maybe because we complained about the smell. Overall, the downtown house is a very nice hotel. They should just fix the problem with the smell of sewer in the rooms.

Dear Expedia for TD management, I am writing regarding our recent stay at Hyatt Centric Playa del Carmen, which fell far below the standards expected of a five-star property. Upon arrival, as we exited the elevator to access our room (room 212, directly across the hall), we were met with a strong sewer-like odor. We initially tried to overlook it, but the smell persisted throughout the evening. Around 2–3 a.m., the odor entered our room—apparently through the vents—waking us from sleep due to its intensity. At 8:00 a.m., we contacted reception and were told someone would come immediately; no one did. Staff suggested this was a new issue, yet plug-in air fresheners in the hallway indicated otherwise. At 11:00 a.m., after calling again, we were told another room would be arranged. Shortly after noon, with nothing resolved, I went to the front desk. Only then did staff acknowledge an ongoing odor issue in that building and move us to a sister property a few blocks away. At 1:00 p.m., we had to pack and relocate. We later met two couples in rooms 212 and 214 who experienced the same odour issue. As parents who arranged a brief three-night getaway, losing a night’s sleep and half a day of our trip significantly impacted our stay. We are disappointed both by the condition of the room and the initial denial of the issue, and wasting our time to argue and relocate… Given the circumstances, we respectfully request full reimbursement. The room was spacious with an ocean view that was breathtaking. The staff was wonderful especially Mario at the front desk , Alfie Soraya We love this hotel it’s centrally located and in the beach. The service is spectacular. This is our third stay at this hotel and love it ,
