Would recommend but be aware. Area under construction and can have plumbing problems out of their control, even the ocean view rooms will be over looking an over grown empty lot. That said everything else was great! The area is fun and walkable, room was clean and well kept, and service was excellent and issues were dealt with quickly and easily.

This was by far the worst experience staying at Velas Condos. We arrived late at night and all we wanted to do was get some rest. The bedroom and shoddy linens should have been our first hint at the quality of the rest of the condo. The bed linens consisted of two lumpy pillow with a pink decorative pillow and two thin sheets on the bed. Hardly luxurious, more like a youth hostel. The bathroom sink faucet sprayed water all over and the cabinet was warped and peeling from water damage. The kitchen was likely the nicest area. The living area left much to be desired with an extremely uncomfortable fold-out futon type sofa where you sink to the ground when sitting on it. The worst part of staying in the condo is the constant construction and noise against the wall of the condo. Constant loud bangin, drilling, and pounding, it was unbearable. We contacted the owner, complained and advised we wanted to check out and why. We were told to contact Expedia who had difficulty contacting the owner, no luck with the owner on a refund. We recorded the noise to submit with our complaint. Very little was done to rectify our financial situation. We scrambled all morning to find alternate accommodation and we had to pay out of pocket for new accommodation to cover the period we would have been at Velas Condos. Overall - a nightmare. Buyer beware on this place - book here at your own risk.

Room was very clean. The front desk person was amazing! Unfortunately because of the construction next door the noise was relentless starting quite early. Perhaps a warning when booking as I would likely have booked elsewhere

It was a nice clean room in a great location close to beach and downtown. Alva was a super hostess. Only thing that was amiss was the towels. A few were soiled, especially the beach towels. All in all, fantastic and comfortable stay.

Wonderful first time in Mexico!! Stay here!!!

Abba was amazing! First time in México, my daughter and I spent her 8th birthday there. Our stay was quiet, and it felt like we were the only ones there! I loved that the beach club was right out the back door and the servers were amazing :) Uber from the condo to our friends resort was only $3USD. Walking distance to downtown and all the cute shops and food places. SODA the local store has more American options, SIX is another good option for snacks/toiletries etc. there’s a 7-11 on the main stretch between resorts too. I got these earrings a while back and wore them the first time to Mexico. The color seemed fitting One of the first things Abba said to me when arriving at the condos was how much she loved my earrings and how she loved the color. (she gets off at 6pm but stayed past 9pm for our arrival and made sure the ac was on in our condo) So when I left, I gave them to her. ❤️ I left her a little translator to hopefully help with future guests, and an energy drink i wasn’t going to be able to take through security. She went out of her way to get my daughter a birthday cake from the local market, showing me pictures thru WhatsApp to help me decide which one to get. She gave us tips and advice, and even the local pizza delivery WhatsApp #. She was a wonderful host and I am glad she loves them and they look beautiful on her! 🥰 I always try and pay it forward to people, and It makes our memorable trip even more special. Muchas Gracias y Nos vemos pronto! ❤️

we liked that the property was right near the beach. The apartment was spacious and clean. The kitchen was stocked with utensils and we got water. They also were able to give us beach chairs and an umbrella. The pool was nice for a dip. There were many restaurants and entertainment options like live music. now for the bad parts, the management needs improvement. There was not enough communication before we arrived to check in, and there was a moment of panic as I thought no one was there to give me access. Eventually, it was resolved, and the manager was very responsive and apologetic after that however, my biggest pet peeve about this place was that there was no hot water in the shower and the drain was clogged. there was really nothing anyone could do about it further the cleaning does not include making the bed, which is really strange although the kitchen and floors would be cleaned. The bed will not be made and linen’s not changed. I probably would stay here again if the price made sense but I think it’s a lovely property. It just needs some extra TLC and attention from management

Muy Bien cuidado desde el edificio en general, la entrada a recepción, la decoración y la unodad en donde nos hospedamos. Alba, la persona encargada, muy amable y accesible, brindándonos la flexibilidad de recibirnos mucho antes de la hora estandar de entrada. La unidad se ve y se siente como nueva. Lo único con lo que tuvimos problema, es con el agua en la regadera que oscila de fría a caliente por alguna razón, y el agua paró de salir en una ocasión al estar tomando un baño, tal vez no directamente por problemas del condo sino de la ciudad, y regresó al par de horas. La proximidad a la playa y a restaurantes está perfecta! También me encantó que tienen 4 bicicletas, viejitas pero pintorescas "Cruisers" que están accesibles para salir a pasear. Nota: aunque por el momento hay una costrucción adyacente al edificio, no escuchamos ruidos molestos dentro de la unidad y definitivamente nada en la noche.

Velas is a neat little condo, conveniently located close to downtown and right on the beach. The manager, Alba is friendly and helpful. She welcomed us to use the bikes and asked if we needed help with them in any way. We opted to not have housekeeping service during our stay, and Alba assured that we always had any house keeping conveniences such as fresh towels, soap, and toilet paper. She is an excellent host and we will stay there again.
