Let me start with the positives. The staff are absolutely great. They are happy, gracious and, responsive and overall make for a very pleasant atmosphere. The food is phenomenal. From basic nachos and burgers, if that's what you feel like, to elevated breakfast and lunch, to top notch star-level dinners. If you're looking for quiet and privacy, with under 200 rooms, this is the place. There are no late night parties. Solo travelers, were left alone by others - unless they wanted to engage. There is wildlife to see, coatis, raccoons a few iguanas and some crocodiles (which are NOT a danger to humans). There are some things that are entirely out of the control of the resort and the staff. The resort itself is built on a swampy area so in places there is that swampy smell. It's not by any of the rooms, only along the path between the Ambar restaurant and the beach-side complex. Quintana Roo's sargassum problem is managed as best as it can be at this resort. It's being raked away all day, every day. Unfortunately, neighboring properties don't do as much, or some (ANY) clean-up efforts, making for putrid smelling walks along the beach if you venture off property. Again - the Blue Diamond beach is cleared. Unfortunately, along with the extraordinary positives, there are negatives. Each on their own would not be that big a deal, but compounded, they add up to an underwhelming experience. Blue Bay, which owns the property, have not been putting enough

Everyone at this hotel is so friendly and wonderful, the stay was gorgeous for our honeymoon. We were treated to a honeymoon breakfast at our room, splurged on a love spa package and a romantic sunset dinner on the waterfront but even without these additional items our stay was incredible. We had the best time from adventures on our patio tour with Dayana, the conversations with buggy cart drivers at all hours of the day, the wonderful bartender Martin learning about the origins of tequila, beautiful beach views, many options for delicious food (our favourite was Ceviche bar), countless native animal encounters and we enjoyed being able to ride a bike together to get from A to B and we will seek to return to Mexico and visit Blue Diamond again in the future! We were visiting from Australia for our honeymoon, most people are from America or Canada so I believe it was a bit surprising to have some Australians visiting perhaps for the first time to Blue Diamond, thank you for welcoming us and we will certainly recommend this stay to others. If we can provide two pieces of feedback to further refine the experience, please keep Ceviche bar open for extended hours perhaps until 10pm or later, it has great food and is worth having a snack place after dinner is finished at Ambar or Aguamarina. Also can the buggy carts fleet be expanded so more are available? There were often long wait times as we understand the resort is quite large.

I consider my review to be as objective as possible, as I am an experienced traveler. What can I say about the hotel? If you are looking for peace, privacy, decent à la carte food (no buffet), and wonderful, attentive staff, then this hotel is definitely for you. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and surrounded by lush greenery. You literally live in the middle of the jungle — among palm trees, vines, and many interesting animals that do not disturb you at all, so there is no need to be afraid. Yes, there is a pond with crocodiles on the property, but during our 10-day stay we saw a crocodile only once. Rather than being a downside, it adds a sense of exotic adventure and variety to the experience. As for the downsides: if you have mobility issues, a disability, or are traveling with elderly people, you should carefully consider whether this hotel is suitable for you. The hotel is not equipped with ramps. To access one of the restaurants for dinner, you must climb three flights of stairs — there is no elevator or alternative access. The restaurant is located on the second floor. The same applies to access to the beach and the swimming pool, both of which require using stairs. This was quite challenging for my husband (who uses a walker) and for my elderly parents. That said, the staff are very kind and helpful and will assist whenever possible. I would also like to mention some inconveniences for guests traveling with pets. We stayed with our small 4 kg poodle. Although th

Wonderful hotel staff, who made our stay feel so special. Jenny was a delightful staff and brightened our day with her positive vibes and cheerful smile. As read on many prior reviews the hotel doesn't look as new as it once did. There are signs of wear and tear and agree some much needed maintenance is definitely required to the hotel to make it truly shine. Being a boutique hotel does have its qualities where you are given quality over quantity and that showed, food and service was exceptional.

Blue Diamond is out of this world. It feels like walking into a "White Lotus" set. Impeccable grounds, gorgeous architecture, EVERY SINGLE staff member was gracious and kind...the food was amazing, the rooms were beautiful. We saw lots of coatis and beautiful birds. The resort was very quiet and the ultimate place to relax. There are activities to do onsite but they were out of our budget.

Staff were friendly. Beautiful grounds. However, room did not have hot water. Maintenance was called out 3 times, then informed me that it was fixed, and to wait for it to get hot. Each time, it was 35mins wait. I can see maybe 10 min to get hot but 35 is a long time. It makes it so every time you use the toilet, you must wash in cold water. Then, the lights stopped working. It was not the power to the whole room, just all lighting. I was told maintenance was coming right away, but after waiting 45 mins I left the room. I had adjusted the room a/c warmer, but it never got warmer, even with the heater on. The bedding was all very thin sheets and no blanket to the side or on the couch or anything, so I had to sleep with both bath robes on top of the covers to stay warm, in a suite where I could not get warm by taking a hot shower unless I waited 35 mins. When we checked in, we were given a whole show about free upgrades, and then the room I was “upgraded” to didn’t work, and was in a section right next to the construction of the resort next door. I heard construction noises constantly. If I went on the patio, even fully clothed and covered, I would get cat-called by the men working. I did not feel comfortable to be on the patio let alone lay out. Also we were told the resort was under-capacity, so one of the restaurants would be closed each night, yet I was not allowed to move rooms. My family also got the wrong room type, and one had to sleep on a couch.

This property is promoted as a 5 Star Luxury Resort but really is not! Might have been 10 plus years ago but very run down and in some cases unsafe, decking and railings are ready to break and met another couple who actually fell through railing when looking at alligators below. Feels like it’s been abandoned and reopened without any repair or investment going into the property. Mice droppings in room and when mentioned told property is surrounded by jungle and animals so to be expected!! Only one restaurant open some days, very long walk or golf cart ride to beach and small pool or restaurant to eat anything. Room keys constantly stop working and require multiple in-convent trips to front desk to yet get another card that will not work, door scanners need replacing.. bell hops and waiting staff are wonderful and try to make up for shortcomings but property management poor and no investment on keeping it at a acceptable standard. Sewage smell, lobby advertised as having a cafe with light breakfast items, always empty no food to be had!! Paid for a spa experience in forest area with abandoned structures with toilet without a seat that didn’t flush and shower hardly working, lockers with lizards in them,.We chose this resort because photos represented beach as large and beautiful witch maybe at one time it was, worst by far on 3 mile stretch walked no upkeep going on, it was rated 5 stars and luxury, however a stretch to class it as a 3 star in my opinion. Very disappointed

I had a horrible experience when I, after 21 hours trip. The concierge was arrogant and unfriendly, having ,e to sign a lot of paper just saying :Sign there. But the worst came when he insisted that I should pay the whole amount for my stay I had problems with my Amex so he ordered me to phone my bank in Sweden (the time there would be 5 am). I refused and asked if it could wait until the following day. He refused. So he let me go to bed after paying half of the bill, with a credit card how actually is connected to my wife. Finally I got to my room. The following morning when I was ordered to go to reception to pay the remaining part it showed that the costs were pre-paid.I can't get rid of a bad feeling that the insistency of the concierge had some special purpose. Extremely sad since I thoroughly enjoyed the stay. But the reception overshadowed the rest, unfortunately

Excelent and tasty all kinds the food. Looks like special sheff chooked it. The atmospheric, type of the gusts, the quietly and the very special architectural of the place inside the jungle, including few kinds of animals, make it the best place for vacation.

Customer service on ten! Xavier, Abril, Fernando and Francisco and the rest of the staff are amazing! Room was extremely clean. They have 3 restaurants but Amber was delicious but to be honest I was sad it was only open for two days because the other restaurant was just okay
