I would recommend that nobody EVER stay at this hotel. We stayed at Viva Azteca for one night and were transferred to Viva Maya for the rest of our stay. This was due to harassment by the “manager of security”. I asked for the video footage by the bar and was ably to prove that he was harassing my 20 year old daughter and her 23 year old friend. He accused them of being underage and when they showed him their ID’s, he continued to harass them and told all bars to not service them anymore. We had been there 2 hours. They were not drunk but he cut them off anyway. On the video, you could see them trying to get away from him while he kept following them. They showed no signs of aggression while he did, constantly flailing his arms at them. At one point, he grabbed my daughter’s friend and tried to make her go with him but would not say where. She refused and was scared. The only way they got away from him was when I showed up. Other staff was watching and did nothing to stop the harassment. When we got back to our room, we found the door locked and our keys would not access it. It had to be unlocked by maintenance. The following morning, we went to breakfast and when we returned we were once again locked out. I went to the front desk and they made a false allegation of us breaking the door and would not let us into our room until I paid them $100 US dollars. I asked to speak to customer service and see the video footage.
