"In general it was great, but we had a few issues with a reservation in a restaurant and they had miscommunication, they told us about a party at the beach, they supposed to have tapas and open bar and 2 hr before a lady came to us and told us that we must buy a bottle to be able to joing the party, at the end we went expecting to be kick out... but turns out that was a miscommunication of the staff from the hotel.
During our last night, we wanted to go to Volcano restaurant, we loved a plate...

"Room temperature, humidity and spotless… food as advertised was pretty good and an unexpected treat was an excellent wine list, I particularly enjoyed Spanish wines from Ribera del Duero … service friendly and willing to fulfill your requests, which is rare. The chef at the French restaurant, prepare a coconut rice for me outside the menu options. Lovely place, a bit far from everything but for me was perfect!"

"Favorite resort in Punta Cana. Short drive there, great food, well maintained. Been to 6 other resorts and Joia is the best for us. Average age is probably 50, but we like that. No stupid stuff by the pool ruining the vibe, people have respect for other travelers. Nice change from other less laidback resorts. Not for the 21-35 crowd. "
